How to Pack Bras for Travel
Stack molded cups inside each other, fill the innermost cup with something soft, and pack them where nothing heavy sits on top. Bring enough bras that each one gets a day off between wears.
How many bras to bring
Elastic recovers between wears, so plan for rest days. A rough guide for a week:
- Two or three everyday bras, so none is worn two days running.
- One for each outfit that needs something different, such as a low back or a strapless neckline.
- A sports bra if you plan to run, hike, or swim.
Wear the bulkiest one on travel day so it takes no room in the bag.
Packing molded and foam cups
- Fasten the hooks so they do not snag other clothes.
- Stack the bras cup into cup, all facing the same way, like bowls. Turning one cup inside out into the other creases the foam.
- Fill the innermost cup with socks or underwear so it holds its shape under pressure.
- Tuck the straps and band into the top cup.
- Pack the stack on top or along the side of the bag, away from shoes and anything heavy. A bra case or packing cube helps.
Packing unlined, lace, and wire-free bras
Unlined and wire-free bras without foam can fold flat: lay one cup over the other along the center gore. On an unlined wired bra, fold at the gore so the wires follow each other, and avoid bending the wire itself. Lace snags less in a mesh pouch.
Washing on the road
- Wash in the sink with cool water and a little gentle soap or shampoo.
- Press the water out instead of wringing, then roll the bra in a towel to absorb the rest.
- Hang it by the center gore or lay it flat overnight.
- Skip hotel dryers. Heat wears elastic and compresses foam.
Quick answers
How do you pack a bra so it does not get crushed?
Fasten the hooks, stack molded bras cup into cup all facing the same way, fill the innermost cup with socks or underwear, tuck the straps inside, and pack the stack on top of the bag away from heavy items.

Two or three everyday bras so none is worn two days running, plus one for any outfit that needs a different style and a sports bra if you will be active. Wear the bulkiest one on travel day.

Wash it in the sink with cool water and a little gentle soap, press the water out without wringing, roll it in a towel, then hang it by the center gore or lay it flat overnight. Skip the dryer.
